Zhangir Dzhumagulov:. IT provides endless opportunity for self
My name is Zhangir. I am 15 years old. I live in Almaty, study in the 10th grade in school-gymnasium No. 94.
I began to indulge in IT after getting my first computer in 2009 when I was 5 years old. In 2016, I took the first important steps when I got interested in game development, then I started to study the game engine Cry Engine 3 and the 3D modeling program Blender.
Most likely, I fell in love with IT because of my curiosity and love to learn new areas. IT provides endless opportunity for self-development.
I have participated in many Hackathons and robotics competitions, but I believe that I have two main achievements: Winning a 3D modeling hackathon and getting a position of Head of IT Department at NSWMUN, the largest UN model in Central Asia.
-What are your plans for the future? What university do you want to apply to? Which major?
I am planning to get a degree in Data Science in Germany.
-What advice can you give to those who has just become involved in programming?
The most important thing is desire, if you have a desire, you will be able to cognize anything.
-How do you imagine the future?
Most people imagine the future as Cyberpunk or Space Odyssey 2001, but I have my own vision. The future will be similar to our modern world, but humanity will use smart technology all around. An ordinary kettle will be a hundred times smarter than the rocket that sent people to the moon. Data Science and AI will be used in absolutely all service sectors.
-How do you think STEM is developed in our country?
I believe that STEM is not developed in Kazakhstan, school education lags significantly behind modern trends, schools do not have good computers, which negates modern education.
-How can STEM be developed in schools of Kazakhstan?
I think that first we need to explain to people that our school education became obsolete. Once people understand this, we need to retrain teachers and take small steps year by year to bring education to perfection.
