Использование технологий для обучения детей STEM в инклюзивном образование
When students use technology for STEM purposes, they can use it in a variety of different ways. The most important way is through assistive technology for their specific disability. Secondly, depending on the technology available at the school, students can:
- Use a flip cam to video the procedures through results
- make a podcast of how to construct their model
- make a PowerPoint presentation, Prezi, or Keynote
- Use garageband
- make an iMovie
- Do the research needed on the web
- make a Glogster
- blog about their project
- answer discussion questions on Edmodo (like Facebook only for education purposes)
- make graphs in excel
- type the report
- Use an iPad
- There are so many more ways, but these were just some ideas!
When we think about technology, we often think about the ideas listed above, but what about low-key technology? What about making circuits with batteries? Or using the iPad to find some information to build your model. The technology does not always have to play a major role in the assignment, the teachers’ just need to make it available for the students to use. The more the students use the technology, the more they will be able to solve problems using the technology.
Students spend hour upon hours a day on digital devices, the more we make them available to them in the classrooom to learn with, the more they will be engaged. Why? Simple. It is because they already know how to use these devices. if they are comfortable on the device, that reduces the stress levels in the more complicated subjects like math and science. Using the technology that the students have grown up with we can expect that the problem solving tasks that are expected of them in schools are going to become less stressful because the students are using familiar tools. These are TOOLS, not pieces to teach the students, pieces used to help teachers engage and enrich student learning.
